Biography

Ida Wall was born on 26 September 1892 in Benjamin, Utah County, Utah Territory. [1] Her parents were William James Wall and Loraine Boren. [1]

She appeared in the 1900 US Census in Diamond, Juab County, Utah. [2] She was living with her parents and her siblings James, Lawrence, Cora, and Thomas. [2]

She appeared in the 1910 US Census in Benjamin, Utah County, Utah. [3] She was living with her parents and her siblings James, Loraine, Cora, Thomas, Alice, and baby (Clifford). [3]

She married Joseph H. Hand Jr. on 21 September 1910 in the Salt Lake Temple in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, Utah. [4] [1] They had the following children:

  3. Dean [5]
  4. Loraine [5]
  5. Betty [5]

She appeared in the 1920 US Census in West Jordan, Salt Lake County, Utah. [7] She was living with her husband and children Wayne, Melba, and Dean. [7]

She appeared in the 1930 US Census at 2853 South on Blair Street in Salt Lake County, Utah. [5] She was living with her husband and her children Wayne, Melba, Dean, Loraine, and Betty. [5]

She appeared in the 1940 US Census at 1462 Mayjor Street in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, Utah. [8] She was living with her husband and her daughters Loraine and Betty. [8]

She died on 29 December 1974 at Murray hospital in Murray, Salt Lake County, Utah. [1]

Her obituary in the 31 Dec 1974 edition of The Daily Herald [1] reads:

Ida W. Hand

SALT LAKE CITY -- Funeral services are scheduled Thursday for Ida Wall Hand, 82, of 2553 Beverly St., Salt Lake City, who died Sunday in a Murray hospital of causes incident to age.

She was born SDept. 26, 1892 in Benjamin, to William James and Loraine Boren Wall. She married Joseph H. Hand on Sept. 21, 1910 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died May 21, 1966. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.

Survivors include one son and three daughters. Dean W. Hand, Mrs. Rudd (Betty) Cole, both Las Vegas; Mrs. Elwood (Melba) Bramble, Ogden; Mrs. Arthur (Loraine) Densie, Murray; 19 grandchildren. 19 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Bryant (Cora) Larson, Delta, Millard County; Mrs. Elmer (Alice) Malmstrom, Draper.

Thursday's funeral will begin at 11 a.m. at Jenkins - Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State, Murray, where friends may call Wednesday between 6 and 8 p.m. and Thursday an hour prior to services. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens of the Valley.
