Ruth was born in 1890. She was the daughter of Dr. James Wallace and Edith Barker.
She was baptised on 22 July 1890 at Calcutta[1].
Tragically she and her sister Phoebe passed away on 24 September 1899 when a huge landslide (known as "The Darjeeling Disaster") engulfed their boarding school.
9 year old Ruth was buried on 25 September 1899 at Darjeeling Old Cemetery, Darjeeling, West Bengal, India[2][3].
