Biography

Edward was born in Canton, Maine in 1859, the son of Simeon Walton and Mary Blackwell.

Edward married Roplietta Isabell 'Rophie' Underhill in 1897; they had no children.

The 1900 US census for Union Township, Lestershire Village, New York lists residents of Grand Avenue as Edward C Walton (41), born in Maine, and his wife Rophie (32), born in Pennsylvania. He is employed as a shoe treer and she as a shoe strapper. They own their home which is mortgaged. The couple has been married for three years and she has given birth to no children.

The 1905 New York State census report for Lestershire Village, Union Township, New York lists residents Edward C Walton (45) and his wife Rophie I (36).

In 1910, Edward is living by himself in Wilton, Maine (actually East Dixfield), doing odd jobs for a living. His marital status states "married".

On 24 Oct 1913, Edward was admitted as an inmate at the Broome County (New York) Almshouse. The following information is found on his admittance form:
