Simeon was born 14 Apr 1805 in Canton, Maine, the son of Jonathan and Susan (Walton) Walton (cousins). He married Mary Blackwell in 1843 in Canton, Maine.
He is listed as a shoemaker on the 1860 census, and according to the Walton genealogy written by Hattie Walton Heninger, he traveled from farm to farm with his ox team and cart making shoes.
He died unexpectedly in 1862, leaving his widow Mary S. Blackwell Walton with five children. The oldest, Susan was just 17 and the youngest, Edward Curtis just three.
He is often confused in family trees with his uncle Simeon who lived in the Paris, Maine area, also married to a Mary.
