After the death of Mary, James married Amy Crane on 6 Feb 1754 at Killingworth, Middlesex, Connecticut Colony - their children were Peter, Esther, Abner, Edmund, James, Joy, Lydia, Bela Polly/Molly (Mary?) and Samuel Ward

He fought in the Revolutionary War as Sgt. in Col. Moses Hazen's Regiment, Continental Army of 1777, New Haven, Connecticut

He is buried at Guilford, New Haven, Connecticut, USA - Burial Unknown
