There are no sources for him, but there is a James William Pegram listed as born in VA in the right time frame:
James was mentioned on a memorial in Greenwood Town Cemetery, Greenwood, Caddo Parish, Louisiana, USA with a death date of 27 Aug 1865.[1] If this is correct, online trees say he's related to Baker Pegram (1758-1830)'s son William Baker. It's possible that he was raised by the Ward family: Though I have found nothing obvious about it, I haven't done a very extensive search. Marsh-9608 03:07, 19 November 2023 (UTC)
