Biography

John Warmoth was born in 1779 in Virginia. He was the son of Thaddeus Warmoth and Winny Wheeler.

John married Elizabeth (Page) Warmoth, on 1 Mar 1805 in Madison, Kentucky, United States. [1][2] John and Elizabeth's children likely included:

  1. Henry Warmoth born 1806 in Kentucky
  2. Thaddeus Warmoth born 1808 in Kentucky
  3. Mary "Polly" Warmoth born 1810 in Kentucky
  4. George Washington Warmoth born 1811 in Kentucky
  5. Lucinda Warmoth born 1815 in Kentucky
  6. St Clair Warmouth born 1817 in Missouri [Note: Name reported as "Linder" in at least one record.]
  7. Missouri Ann Warmoth born 1820 in Missouri
  8. John Tandy Warmoth born 1822 in Missouri

In the 1810 census, John and Elizabeth Warmoth were living in Madison, Madison, Kentucky, United States. Their household included three children ages 0 to 9.[3]

By 1820, John and Elizabeth had moved to Missouri where their younger children were born. [Note: Missouri became a state in 1821; there is no US Census record for Missouri for 1820.] John appears to have died (or they had separated) before 1830. In the 1830 census, Elizabeth Warmoth was the head of household living in Chariton, Missouri. Her household included herself (Free White Female 30-39) and five children: one male 15-19, one male and one female 10-14, and one male and two females 5-9.[4] Elizabeth (widowed or divorced) married widower Gideon Gooch on 24 July 1834 in Howard County, Missouri.[5] In the 1840 census record for Gideon, Elizabeth (age 55) would have been the Free White Female age 50-59 in his household. They were living in Washington, Livingston, Missouri.[6]

Death

John may have died before 1830, likely in Missouri. No death record or gravestone yet identified.

Warmoth-38 and Warmoth-75 appear to represent the same person because: Warmoth-38 and Warmoth-75 represent an obvious match. We should merge them.
