Vulkert was born in 1837. He was the son of Thomas Warring and Susannah Woodworth.

Vulkert Warring was a Civil War Veteran.

20 Aug 1864 Lake City, Wabasha Co., Minnesota, Enlisted as Private in Company E, Minnesota 11th Infantry Regiment (The same Company as his brother Cornelius V. Warring).
26 Jun 1865 St. Paul, Minnesota, Mustered Out Company E, 11th Infantry Regiment Minnesota on 26 Jun 1865 at St Paul, MN.

He married Maria Adeline Elletson (1838–1917), the sister of his brother Cornelius' wife. They had the following children:

  2. Mary E. Warring 1866–1867
  3. Adeline Maria Warring 1870–1926
  4. Susannah Esther "Susie" Warring 1874–1890
  5. Daisy M. Annetta Warring 1878–1890

He passed away in 1916. Buried at Lakewood Cemetery, Lake City, Wabasha County, Minnesota.
