DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with John by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with John:

I agree with this merge. I have just added the couple John Thomas Waters and Anna Wright as father and mother of my ancestor, Absalom Waters (about 1759-1816). I am currently assessing DNA evidence via Ancestry ThruLines.

Waters-1246 and Waters-6867 appear to represent the same person because: these may be the same person. Middle names weren't very common back then. There's a John, a Thomas, and a John Thomas. Likely two of those are duplicates. Please review and merge. Sources would be helpful . . .
