Zerviah [spelled "Seuviah" and "Serviah" in town records] Watkins was born in Ashford, Windham, Connecticut on April 28, 1728, the daughter of William Watkins and Mehitable (Humphrey) Watkins.[1] In Ashford on November 7, 1745 Zerviah married Daniel Knowlton, on the same day her sister Mehitable married Samuel Smith Jr. (One assumes there was a dual marriage for the sisters.)[2][3][4] In 1760, Zerviah, Daniel, and their family traveled with other New England Planters to settle Onslow Township, (now known as Colchester), Nova Scotia.[5][6] Zerviah died soon after their arrival.[7]

BIRTH CONFLICT: Ashford vital records show Zerviah's birth as 28 April 1728, and her sister Mehetable's birth as 3 June 1728, about 5 weeks apart. One (or perhaps both) of these dates is incorrect.
