Biography

OBITUARY: "Williamsburg - Nella Blanche Robbins, age 92, passed on 15 Jan 2006 She was born in Madisonville, Tenn., the oldest of 11 children of Riley and Elizabeth Elsie Gibson Watson. She moved to the Williamsburg area in 1936 where she met her husband, Donald U. Robbins. They were married in Brookville on Dec. 18, 1937.

They farmed togther until 1978 when they retired. She also had worked for the Williamsburg and Northeastern Wayne School cafeterias for many years. Mrs. Robbins loved cooking, sewing, gardening and trips with her family back to Tennessee. She was a member of the Williamsburg United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed teaching children during Sunday school and vacation Bible school.

Survivors include her son, Michael Robbins, and his wife Betty of Medaryville; her son-in-law, Donald George, of Williamsburg, grandchildren, Doug Robbins and his wife Pam of Williamsburg, David Robbins and his wife Jana of Wylie, Texas, Chris George and his wife Pricilla of Norris, Tenn., Robert George of Indianapolis, Lizann George Bane and her husband Curt of Greens Fork; 13 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Robbins was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald U. Robbins, on June 8, 1991; her daughter, Martha Ann Robbins George; five brothers and two sisters. Funeral was in Fountain City with entombment in the Earlham Mausoleum."
