Biography

On January 5th 1868, Daniel was christened at the Kingston Parish Church, Cambridgeshire - the son of John Wayman, a labourer residing Kingston, and his wife, Sarah. The ceremony was performed by D. D. Sampson, Rector, of Kingston. A birthdate is not included on this baptism record. ^[1]

Daniel was a 3-year-old Scholar on 1871 census night, the son of John and Sarah Wayman. Though the Wayman family lived at Kingston, his mother Sarah (41), and all his siblings, whom had slept at home on census night, were shown as born at nearby Caldecote: Elizabeth (20), Robert (18), John (12), Susanna (9), and Sabina (6). His father, John, a 42-year-old Agricultural Labourer, was born Kingston. ^[2]

On the night of the 1881 English Census, the Wayman family resided at The Green, Kingston, Cambridge. John Wayman, the Head, was a 53-year-old Farm Servant. His wife Sarah was 50. They had three children at home: Daniel (13) a Farm Servant, Mark (9) and Tom (6) scholars. All are shown born at Kingston except Sarah who was born Caldecote. ^[3]
