Hello WikiTree cousins and friends!

I am the project leader for Project:Holocaust, and a co-leader for the Project:Jewish Roots and the Project:US Black Heritage. My focus at USBH is the Heritage Exchange program

I also chip in for the Cemeteries Project, Data Doctors, and Wikitree Challenges for 2023.

My family is primarily from the American South, as well as a bit of New York and Vermont. Roots extend back to England, Scotland, and other nearby countries, according to DNA, and some paper trails which I’m slowly working on. I’m on AncestryDNA as emartzen, check to see if we're kin there, too!

Notes

  • I do some of my work in honor of Dave Ebaugh, a truly Wonderful WikiTreer and person. I hope to complete his to-do lists for the US Black Heritage Project, of which he was an early member.
  • I am learning Hebrew, but do not know much beyond letters and names. I intend to become conversant. I know enough Korean to add dates, names and fix place names; I am not continuing to study Korean at this time. French…. I learned it for many years, lived in Paris briefly, and was near-fluent… now I’d say I’m conversant. I need to brush up, don’t want to lose what I have!

Education

  • The Hockaday School, Dallas. 2004.
  • The University of Texas at Dallas, 2007. BA, Psychology
  • Printmaking and other fine art courses, UT Arlington and Brookhaven College, Farmer’s Branch, Texas. (2010-2012)

Hello Elaine,

The Profile Improvement Project (PIP) is performing a check-in. The Project operates in a team structure with these participant PIP Teams -- The Category Team, the Unknowns Team, and three Biography Teams. There is also the Voyage Team which guides new Voyagers. See the Profile Improvement Project Teams for a brief outline of each team.

You’re currently identified as a member of the Voyage Team and previously as a member Unknowns Teams. Are you happy with the Team you are on? If you are interested in working with a different Team, please let us know.

If you have not already done so, we invite you to join the email GoogleGroup. We use the WikiTree Discord server #profile-improvement channel for our project. Neither is required; we also use the Profile_Improvement tag in G2G for Project announcements.

We thank you for all you do to help the Profile Improvement Project meet its goals. We would like to hear about the successes you’ve had and would also appreciate any feedback you have to help improve the Project. Please share your thoughts in a reply to this comment or via private message to one of us.

Sincerely,

Debi Hoag and Kay Knight, Co-Leaders, Profile Improvement Project

Robin Shaules, Project Coordinator, Profile Improvement Project

Hi Elaine, this category sent for renaming, can't be deleted as it is linked to help pages, https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:Holocaust_Victims_at_Treblinka

See the "what links here", https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Special:Whatlinkshere/Category:Holocaust_Victims_at_Treblinka

The links to the category will need to be removed/changed on the help pages.

Regards, Margaret, Categorization project

Oh, I see. This is a new and interesting problem, ha! I’ll write you back when it is fixed! I’ll provide the help page editor similar but non-Treblinka link.
Ok, the link has been replaced, so should be good to go!
