Biography

If she is the daughter of Peter Weaver (Jr) and Mary Huffman, her birthdate cannot be in 1717. Could she be attached to the wrong generation? -- Fiscus-32 00:02, 20 December 2016 (EST)

Research Notes / Profile History

* "On the first Sunday after Easter in 1778, the name Burga Wilheit was recorded again in the church Register confirming that the name really did exist. The name Burga is unusual at the Hebron Lutheran Church. Burga is, of course, a nickname for Walburga or Waldburga. In the Virginia records there is one other record of a similar name. The list of fifty imported Germans which Spotswood used to partial payment for a patent of land includes the family, Joseph Wever, Susannna Wever, Hans Frederick(became known as Peter) Wever, Maria Sophia. The Hans Frederick Wever, above, was actually Hans Dietrich Wever (from the German records). The Dietrich became Dieter, Teter, Peter. Thus Walburga Weaver was a sister of Peter Weaver, Wever, and Wabburie Wever. Except for the name Wabburie, the family is known in Germany. This suggests that Wabburie was born in 1717, at sea or, at least, in transit from Germany. Wabburie is another nickname for Walburga." John Blankenbaker. Beyond Germanna, v. 6, n.3 (May 1994).

  • DOD is off according to the fact : John Willheit and wife Burga attended the Hebron Lutheran Church in Culpeper Co., VA on Easter Sunday in 1776. They appear in the list of communicants. (John Blankenbaker, The Hebron Communion Lists: Communion Lists of the Hebron Lutheran Church 1775 to 1812 Madison, Virginia ,Chadd's Ford, PA 2001)
  • Her birthdate has never made sense with her parents as Peter Weaver, Jr and Mary Huffman. However, there is information on Philipp Joseph Weber that indicates she should be his daughter. I have changed her parental connections to reflect the information Philipp's profile. -- Fiscus-32 12:23, 21 December 2016 (EST)
  • According to the research on the RootsWeb family tree for her family, her name was Walburga, not Margaret or "Peggy." They speculate that she was born at sea because she was not listed on departure. Her birth date is given as ca. 1717.[1]

I could find no documentation that Adam Wilhiet married Walburga Weaver. She and husband John were alive (1776 communion records for Herbon Church) after Adam Wilheit died, so unless they divorced, Adam was not married to Walburga. Anyone have any documentation?

I don't know if this is the correct place to address this. I have another person as Margaret Weaver's father. The Peter Weaver listed here I believe is her brother, not her father. I have her father as Philip Joseph Weber (Weaver) born 1687 and her mother as Susanna Klaar. Peter's profile lists his dob as 1730, so he wasn't alive when Margaret was born and can't be her father. This changes the next few Weavers.
