William Webster was born about 1740 in Province of Maine, son of James Webster (abt. 1700–1765) and Isabella Unknown (abt. 1700– ).

William Webster was born about 1740, Province of Maine and passed away 19 December 1808, Gray, Maine. He married Jane Little, 24 December 1769, Gray, Maine. He was the father of four known sons. His memorial page on FindAGrave, tells us he moved to Gray where he was Captain of Militia and on the first Board of Selectmen of the town. He was laid to rest at Gray Village Cemetery, Gray, Cumberland County, Maine.
