Biography

John was born in 1845. He was the son of Benjamin Webster and Nancy Duncan. He served during the Civil War in Company H of the 13th North Carolina Calvary. John and brother William were listed as tobacconists in the 1870 census, a trade they'd learned from their father. He married to Lillie Ann Morrison, daughter of J. M. Morrison and Bettie Reid Davis, the 22nd of December in 1896. John was editor of Webster's Weekly when he passed away in 1909.
