Obituary

Taps Sounded for Two Vets -- Double funeral services conducted in Chapel of Oklahoma Confederate Home

Taps were sounded this afternoon at the Oklahoma Confederate home for W. M. Terry and Rufus W. [typo by newspaper] Weddington, veterans of the Civil War, who passed away Monday. Double funeral services were conducted from the chapel of the home by the Reverend Mr. Sumner, minister of the Baptist church. Mr. Terry was a former Baptist minister, while Dr. Weddington was a physician. The former was 89 years old and had made his home at the Confederate home here for many years. He was a member of Company One of the Twelfth South Carolina infantry. Dr. Weddington was 86 years old. He was a widower and leaves no children. During the war he served with Company D of the Thirteenth Tennessee infantry. He had lived at the home the last five years. Burial was conducted at Rose Hill cemetery under the direction of the Harvey Brothers.
