The 1820 Census of Rowan County, NC has two Moses Wilbornes:

Moses Wilborne121258 Image

One would assume father and son. One between 26 and 45 and one between 16 and 26. If the Moses of this profile was born about 1765, then he would have been 45 years old in 1810. Considering this one would also assume the older Moses is detailed on p. 260.

The 1820 CEnsus has one Moses Wilborne:

Name0-1010-1616-1816-2626-4545+0-1010-1616-2626-4545+
Moses Wilborne31112

Assuming again that Moses has migrated away from Rowan and this census shows only the younger Moses.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Moses by comparing test results with other carriers of his ancestors' Y-chromosome or mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Moses:

I'm sorry for your loss. Thank you for touching base and I wasn't expecting anything immediately. I know some of these things take time.

Thank you for your quick replies. I wasn't aware that anyone was working on determining if they are the same and just wanted to bring it to attention. Moses is my 4th great-grand uncle on my father's side, so I was interested in figuring it out. Thanks again! Slater-1287, Nancy Slater Cordray

I have had to drive to SC (1,036 miles) for a funeral. Haven't forgotten this, just had to move it to the back burner for a bit. Apologies, Mags

Welborn-347 and Welborn-90 appear to represent the same person because: Many similarities.

Welborn-347 and Welborn-90 are not ready to be merged because: I'm reasonably sure the two profiles are the same individual but I also know that Mags Gaulden is working on this line of Welborns and she and I have exchanged and/or shared information on this Welborn line in times past. It appears that someone that isn't part of the Welborn line is requesting the merge and I would prefer that Mags and I would communicate again and determine the merge.

I am seeing this very late. I'll jump back into this tomorrow and see if I can figure out the discrepancies and get some good sourcing and the merge done. Thanks Nancy and Larry!

It's been awhile since I've worked on the Welborn branch of my family tree but after getting the notice about a merge request being made, I've looked over this particular branch. It doesn't appear to me that James Welborn & Isabella Mary Teague would have TWO sons of the same name born within about 5 years of each other. FamilySearch records show Moses Welborn born about 1757 with spouse Martha Teague. The Welborn-90 profile was done by Mags Golden and appears to be from a imported gedcom file. Welborn-347 was done by me and I'm not sure, but think that the data that I posted for him was from data I received from my aunt Hazel Evalyn Kingsley Rucidlo prior to her passing away.

Rather than merging the two profiles, I recommend the deletion of Welborn-90 since that profile did not show a spouse and comparing the two and merging them would be okay if a reasonable assumption of the date of birth for Moses. Moses Welborn's parents are my 5th great grandparents. They married in 1756 and FamilySearch shows the birth of Moses in 1757. My records show he was born in 1759 and his brother Aaron born about 13 or 14 months in 1760.
