Biography

Thomas was born in 1861. He was the son of George Wilburn and Georgia Cantrell. After his mother died his father remarried and left him and his siblings in Georgia. He was raised by his Aunt, Nancy Hall Welborn. He passed away in 1949, with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suitland, Maryland^[1]

Thomas was named after the Town in SC, Clemson. The Climpson who is reported in the WWII Draft Registration Card to the right is illiterate as he witnessed his information with an "X" while someone else filled in the information, spelling Clemson as Climpson. Clemson, in South Carolina, is pronounced with a soft "p". Assume that whoever filled in this information did not know this and entered his name phonetically.
