Biography

William Dale Weldon son of Jonathan Weldon was the half brother of Weldon Pearman Pearman-15 and brother of Penny (Weldon) Adams. William married Nancy Spruill, a daughter of John and Ruth Spruill. On December 11, 1813, John Shirley sold to William Weldon 348 acres both sides of Camp Creek, adjacent to William Shirley, James Shirley, Robert Shirley, John Shirley and T. Wakefield. William and his wife lived as neighbors to the Shirley family on Camp Creek, Anderson county, South Carolina. William wrote his Will April 13, 1860 when he was very advanced in age. It was probated August 1860, in Hart county, Georgia. In it, William names his children Dicey Levinia; Mary; Sarah, wife of John N. Shirley; Nancy, wife of Edward Freeman; son J.P. Wilbun Weldon; and Johnathan Weldon. He names both of his sons as executors. [1]
