Biography

Thomas Joseph Welter spent his entire life in the Garden State. He was born in Newark, NJ in 1874, the son of Thomas S. Welter and Caroline C. Delaney.

He married Mary Amelia Hess ( daughter of George Hess and Anna McGowen). His 1918 draft card states he worked as an officer at a detective agency in Newark, NJ. Their children included daughters Bernice ( married Denver) and Thelma ( married Morgan) and son Thomas.

Thomas J. Welter died in New Jersey in 1937; his resting place is in Newark, NJ.
