Biography
Mary Ann Werts was born Apr 1780 in Newberry County, South Carolina, the daughter of John Henry Werts and Anna Catherine (Hair) Werts. She married John Wendel Shealy, and had seven known children. Mary Ann was a granddaughter of Peter & Anne Maria (Herman) Hair. Her mother had a sister named Rachel (Hair) Charles, wife of Michael Charles. Michael & Rachel Charles were my fourth great-grandparent's.
(Alternate birth date 1787 is unlikely because then she would have been only 16 at the time of her first known child.)
