Biography
Ichabod was born in 1710, son of William West and Abigail Williston. Ichabod West was a staunch Baptist from Rehoboth/ Swansea MA, who moved with the family first to the Oblong, Beekman Patent (near Pawling NY) and later to Shaftsbury VT. After his first wife died, (probably in Dutchess Co NY) he remarried and had a second large family. He is said to have been the father of 24 children. His will dated 1786 names most of them. He passed away in Shaftsbury VT, will probated ca 1788.
CAUTION! Not to be conflated with Ichabod West (1717-).
