Biography

Lydia Whipple was born at Grafton, Massachusetts on August 10, 1747, daughter of James Whipple and Sarah Adams. [1] [2]

Lydia married Samuel Hall on December 18, 1766 and the family moved to Spencer, Massachusetts about 1770. Samuel was born at Grafton on October 25, 1742, son of Jonathan and Thankful Hall. [1] [3] [4]

Samuel died on January 10, 1814. [1] [3] [4] [5]

His widow Lydia declined to administer his estate and his son Moses Hall was appointed, administrator on January 31, 1815. [6]

Those heirs receiving c L321 each included, dated March 3, 1815 :

  • Samuel, Jonathan, Elias and Moses Hall
  • Sally Barnes
  • Henry Watson
  • Eli Bartlett Jr.
  • Jacob Coombs [6]

His widow Lydia died on July 17, 1817. [5] [3] [4] She is buried in the Old Spencer Cemetery at Spencer. Her inscription reads: In Memory of Mrs Lydia Hall wife of Mr Samuel Hall she died July 17, 1817 Ae 69[7]

Whipple-1907 and Whipple-1078 are not ready to be merged because: I just proposed the merge of the two father's James Whipple, they should be merged first prior to merging the children.
