John was born in 1719. He passed away in 1784. [1]

John Adam Whisenhunt, also known as Johann Adam Visinand was born on 3 September 1719 and baptized 8 September 1719 at Hassloch Reformed Church, Edenkoben, Pfalz, Bavaria and baptized September 8, 1719.[2] He was the son of Philip Visinand and Allena Neff. The family arrived in Philadelphia on October 14, 1731 aboard the Snow[3] Lowther.[4] The ship sailed from Rotterdam to Dover, England, and then to the Port of Philadelphia, America.

Adam married Anna Barbara Eaker (Egger?) in PA about 1734.

Adam lived in Berks County, PA. He moved from PA to NC sometime between 1754 when he is shown as living in Heidleburg Township, Berks County, and 1759 when he appears on a Rowan County Tax List of that year. (At that time Rowan County included lands of the present day Rowan County south to SC and west to the Pacific Ocean). Records indicate he owned property first along Abbott's Creek before moving west of the Catawba to Indian Creek.

Adam was a member of Captain Moses Moore's Militia Company in North Carolina along with 66 other men.

Adam's will was recorded on 11 Jan 1784 in Lincoln County, NC book 2, pg. 240. He stated in his will he was a planter.

Whisenant-206 and Visinand-30 appear to represent the same person because: All dates and locations for birth, death, marriage are the same (or nearly so in the case of the birth). Spouse is same. Findagrave info is the same.

Whisenhunt-10 and Whisenant-206 appear to represent the same person because: I am new to WikiTree - but not to Genealogy and Ancestry. This family is in my line and I am trying to prove for Sons of American Revolution. I hope I am requesting to merge your information with mine. Thank you.

You probably have that all sorted now, but this lists three Wisenants in "Colonial Soldiers of the South". I wasn't sure if this was the same Adam, but then remembered that the Revolutionary War was not just fought by men in their 20s. Or men with uniforms and shoes. Incredible, inspiring people.

Help! I lost what I was trying to do. I am new to WikiTree and need help. I wanted to use the profile of David Parker or Jeffrey Steele for John Nicholas Whisenant and his father - John Adam Whisenhunt - but it did not work out. I was able to get John Adam's father Peter correct. Help would be appreciated - new to WikiTree - but not new to Genealogy.

Whisenhunt-72 and Whisenhunt-10 appear to represent the same person because: Clear Duplicate. details and sources are correct on Whisenhunt-72. thank you

Whisenhunt-62 and Whisenhunt-10 appear to represent the same person because: The other merge should have gone into Whisenhunt-10 if you were planning on keeping Whisenhunt as the last name -- always merge into the lowest number for the surname. Thanks!!

Whisenant-77 and Whisenant-11 appear to represent the same person because: Another duplicate -- again, you'll need to decide whether Whisenant or Whisenhunt in the appropriate surname. Thanks!

Whisenant-11 and Whisenhunt-62 appear to represent the same person because: Clearly duplicates w/ a variation in the last name -- you can decide which spelling is appropriate; however, you should make note of any variations in the "Other Last Names" field. Thanks!!
