Denica was born about 1819, the daughter of Abraham Whitaker and Nancy Unknown.
Denica married William Jackson Blanton on August 10, 1839 in Rutherford County, North Carolina. [1] They made a home in Rutherford County and had the following children:[2]
- Sarah Blanton, b. 1847, Rutherford County, NC, d. date unknown.
- Pricilla Blanton, b. 1840, Rutherford County, NC, d. 1898.
- Spencer Blanton, b. 1843, NC, d. date unknown.
- Melvin C. Blanton, b. 1846, Rutherford County, NC,
Denica died on March 1, 1895.
