Louisa Whitaker was born on February 28, 1825 to James Whitaker and Malinda Fishel in Fairview, Buncombe County, North Carolina.
She was married August 31, 1848 in Pottawattamie Co, Iowa to Harmon Dudley Pierson by Apostale George A. Smith.
This was the beginning of his very large Mormon family.
Louisa and Harmon had thirteen children, who are: Matilda, Charles Daniel, James Heber, William Lester, Parley Leander, Martha Louisa, Margaret Malinda, Minerva Ann, Heman Wilford, Samuel Levi, Solomon Matthew, Alivia Huff and Gilbert Harrison.
