Biography

Descendant of Adam Nowell born before 1120 in Lancashire, England.

Samuel was born in 1587. He was the son of William Whitaker and Susan Culverwell.^[1]

In 1598 he went to Eton College as a chorister^[1] and he is recorded there in 1600 in the Eton College Register.^[2] He went on to study at King's College, Cambridge.^[3] In 1607/8 he was elected a Fellow of King's College, Cambridge, where he remained for the rest of his life.^[1][3]

He passed away in 1617 and was buried in the chapel of King's College, Cambridge.^[1][3]
