Biography

He was not the son of Daniel White, as stated in The White Genealogy published in 1895[1] and subsequent compilations. Thomas the son of Daniel m. Martha Bisbee of Pembroke, Massachusetts.[2] Birth 8 May 1680 is the birth of the son of Daniel.

Thomas settled in Scituate, Dorchester and Bolton, Massachusetts.[1]

Thomas was a Cordwainer by profession. A cordwainer is the English term for a shoemaker who makes shoes from new leather.

He married Rachel Horton. Children:[1][3]

Death

He died 1770.[1] [4] Thomas White's will probated 28 May 1770 and dated 15 June 1770.

William purchased the farm 25 Sept 1770, and agreed to support his mother Rachel until her death. He sold the farm and moved to Templeton. In 1778, purchased land in Marlborough, NH. [4]

There is a problem here. According to the 2006 Mayflower Society Book for White family, Thomas son of Daniel m. Martha Bisbee.There is no mention of Rachel. The souces listed here all call him son of Daniel, but unless there is overwhelming evidence the society is wrong we use their findings. I think the easiest thing to do to remedy this, is simply disconnect him from parents and from Martha Bisbee and I will create a new Thomas to be Daniel's son. I will also take a look to see if I can find whose parents Thomas were.
