Biography

Born in Emporia, Kansas, my father's (Whittle) family originally came from Lancashire in England. After long years, our ancesters traveled from Lancashire County, England, to Virginia, to Orange County, North Carolina, to Edgefield County, South Carolina, on to Sevier County, Tennessee, over to Kentucky and finally, traveling on a wagon train to Miller County, Missiouri. My mother's (Storrer) family was from a German-speaking Swiss farming family which settled in Greenwood County, Kansas, originally from Switzerland.

Hi Cousin,

Thanks for posting that you are DNA tested on 23andMe.

I'd love to be able to do DNA confirmation with your test and my family's DNA tests, could you please export your RAW DNA to GedMatch.com and post the kit number on your DNA too here?

Let me know if you need any help with any of this.

Thanks.

-William

Hello, William! I would happily do what you are asking, but I honestly don't know how... Can you walk me through the process? Thank you so much! Do you know yet, just from genealogy information, where we connect??? Thanks!

Here is one page describing the export process:

Let me know if that is not clear.

Hi Elizabeth,

I haven’t heard back from you about the break up of the United Kingdom Project. I hope all is well with you. I assume you don’t wish to join any of the country-level projects at present, and will go ahead and remove the United Kingdom badge. If you wish to join England, Scotland, Wales or Ireland in the future, you would be most welcome to do so via the respective G2G sign-up post.

Many thanks for all your contributions,

Susie :-)

Hi Elizabeth,

We realise the time has come to dissolve the UK Project in favour of the individual country projects of England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland.

We are checking in with all UK badge holders to find out which country project(s) you would like to be in so you can collaborate with other members, have the opportunity to select which team(s) you would like to join, and so we can ensure you have all the correct badges.

Please respond by PM to let us know which country project(s) you would like to be in. Please don’t assume we know. We are effectively starting from scratch to make sure no one falls through the cracks.

Once you have done this, the Coordinator for Membership in the relevant country project(s) will be in touch to help get you situated.

Many thanks,

Susie

Hi Elizabeth

I’m the new Project Coordinator for the England Project. I am contacting you, as there have been some recent changes to the project which we are keen to bring to your attention. Please look at the England Project page for more information on the changes and the ways members are able to actively contribute moving forward. Once you have considered how you would like to participate, please contact either myself or Susie to let us know. We can then list your involvement, help you join the Google group forum for England, and give you any other help you may need to get going. If we don’t hear back from you we’ll assume you do not wish to be a part of the England Project for the time being. We really hope you will join the team!

Hello Elizabeth, thank you for working on the merge. From the family records that have been passed on to us, Haynes-2758 has the correct info, but they seem to represent he same person, my great great great grandmother, Chris Strader

I have a book on Colonial Families of the Southern States of America, by Stella Pickett Hardy. There are some Whittle's (Stephen Decatur Whittle, marr to Ann Taylor 1849-1850, and a few kin listed with them. Also Warren's, Esaias, Ethel, George and 3 others. I see no Gossetts. If you want that information, I will be glad to send it to you, by email. I can scan those two pages, with a scan of the book and title page, ascthe source citation.
Hi - I would love to get this info. Thanks!
I am quite new to this site, and have been inputting family data which I collected quite a few years ago. Unfortunately, when I put together my files some years back, I did not include most sources, as I was just doing it for my own family. My bad. Please forgive any errors made on my part! I welcome corrections and additions and input.

Hi Elizabeth and thanks for your message.

I've added the UK and Scottish Clans Project badges to your profile. If you click on each badge it will take you to the full list of our wonderful members.

Click on United Kingdom Project will take you the first page of the project. Scroll down to participants. I've added your good self and your Country of interest etc. I've also added you to the England and Scotland Project member interests pages.

I've done likewise for the Scottish Clans Project Thanks for joining, enjoy and good luck with your research.

Hi again Elizabeth –

You are now a confirmed member of WikiTree! Thank you for volunteering.

Not sure how to start? Check out How to Use Wikitree.

Have fun and ask for help in G2G if you need it! WikiTree members are always eager to offer guidance to a fellow genealogist. It’s a fun place too. Take a look at what I mean here, G2G’s Question of the Week: If you had a time machine, when and where would you go?

The G2G forum is a great way to get to know our community, and if you would like to get more involved, see this page for volunteer opportunities.

Happy hunting!

Liz
