Biography

Israel was born in 1783 in Rowan County, North Carolina. He was the son of John Wilcoxson and Sarah Notson.

He married Mary "Polly" Fleming on 2 Dec 1809 in Clark County, Kentucky.[1]

Israel's last child, an unknown daughter, was born about 1823 in Boone County, Missouri. The daughter is listed in the 1830 US Federal Census for Boone County in the household of Mercy Wilcox (Israel's widow Mary). After Israel died in Boone County, Missouri, his wife, Mary, and children moved to Iowa in the fall of 1841.

Their sons, Alfred and James Willcockson, married Dooley sisters, Frances and Mary Ann in Davis County, Iowa.
