Event: Sister Obituary. Newspaper Article. 12 Nov 1947. Carcoar, New South Wales, Australia. [1] Source: Note: Lyndhurst Shire Chronicle (NSW : 1897 - 1941; 1944 - 1954), Wednesday 12 November 1947, page 1 OBITUARY MRS. CLARA PARKER. With the death of Mrs. Clara Parker in Carcoar Hospital on Tuesday Nov. 4 the district lost yet another of its best known identities and a resident of the type that any community can ill afford to lose. Well known and highly respected through her associations with the people and organisations of Carcoar and surrounding centres, Mrs. Parker had reached the age of 74 years. She was born at Carcoar and lived there for the whole of her lifetime. Born Clara Williams, she married the late Mr. William Parker at Carcoar about 58 years ago and he predeceased her by nine years. Following her husband's death Mrs. Parker spent some time with her daughters at Young. She enjoyed good health until only a few weeks before her death. Deceased is survived by three broth- ers, Messrs Jim, Dave and Bob Wil- liams, all of Carcoar. There are also six daughters and three sons, being Mrs. E. Smith (Mill- thorpe), Mrs. W. Richards (Bathurst), Mrs. N. Smith (Young), Mrs. Booth| (Burraga), Mrs. B. White (Young) and Mrs. T. Banks (Kandos). The sons are Messrs J. Parker (Blay- ney), H. Parker (Kingsvale) and E. Parker (Carcoar). Mrs. Parker was laid to rest to the Pesbyterian portion of Carcoar ceme- tery and the funeral cortege moved from her son's residence at 4 p.m. on Wednesday. Rev. H. McDonald, of Mandurama, officiated at the graveside. Cam Reed and Son had charge of the funeral arrangements. http:/trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article144912395.
