Notes

(Courtesy of Findagrave)

Jacob was the son of Peter Williamson (born c.1705) and Maria (Cossart) Williamson (3 July 1706 - c.1777)

Jacob married Elizabeth (DeGroot) Williamson (1746-1821) about 1767 in New Jersey. They eventually settled in West Virginia.

A Revolutionary War warrant was issued in Berkeley County, (now West) Virginia, for Jacob Williamson. A warrant was an order, or a promissory note for the money value of supplies given, or services rendered. These were "public claims," and were non-military in type.

Jacob served as a Lieutenant in the Berkeley County, Virginia Militia during the Revolutionary War. The Sons of the American Revolution placed a marker at his grave on Nov. 8, 2014, commemorating his service.

Burial

Elmwood Cemetery, Shepherdstown, Jefferson County, West Virginia, USA [1]
