Biography

Thomas Wilson appears on the 1769 tax list for Dobbs County, North Carolina.^[1][2][3]

He appears on voters lists for Dobbs County, North Carolina dated 10 Mar 1779^[4][5] and 28 Mar 1788.^[6]

Thomas also appears on the 1790 census of Dobbs County, North Carolina with a household consisting of one male over the age of 16, one male under the age of 16 and one female and one slave.^[7][8][9]

On 24 Apr 1779 James Wilson had a claim for 125 acres in Dobbs County, North Carolina adjoining Thomas Wilson, Robert White and his own on the south side of Vine Swamp (Book 2 p656).^[10]

On 04 Apr 1786 Boothe Mozingo 50 acres in Dobbs County, North Carolina on the south side of Ground Nut joining Thomas Wilson, John Creels and his own lines (Book 4 p878).^[10]

Thomas died in 1807 in Abbeville County, South Carolina.^[12][13][14]

On 05 Apr 1808, an inventory of Thomas Wilson's estate was performed and submitted to the probate court. At that time, the total value of his inventoried estate was $1,754.00, which included the value of 2 enslaved persons (a woman named Mary, and a girl named Sarah).^[14]

The following Wilsons purchased items from the sale of Thomas Wilson's estate: Elizabeth, Samuel, Susannah, William, Drury and Martin.^[12][13] And cash payments as "legatees" of the estate were made to the following Wilsons: Samuel, Drury, Susannah, William, Obidiah, John, Jeconias, Martin, and Elizabeth (widow & as dower).^[12][13]
