Aaron A. Wilson of Mecklenburg County, NC purchased 800 acres from SamuelPatterson 18 Jul 1798 for 250 Spanish Milled Dollars. (Bedford Co.B-260). It appears that Aaron had no wife or children and probably wasnever married. He was listed on the 1820 census in Bedford Co. TN livingalone. (000001-00000). When he died about 1833, his estate was dividedbetween his eight brothers, the sons of Robert and Eleanor Wilson. Hisremaining land of 442 acres was divided into 8 plots, and lots were drawnto determine their disposition. One brother, John Wilson, was notincluded in the division, which might indicate he died prior to hisbrother without heirs. The lots were drawn as follows:

LOT 1- THOMAS WILSON 39 acres . Aaron A. Wilson of Williamson Countysold the 39 acres to John H. Wilson for $250 in 1834. (Marshall Co.Bk.A-22) Aaron A. Wilson was perhaps acting as administrator of hisfather Thomas Wilson's estate and or representative of other heirs. The1820 census of Williamson County, TN indicates there were at least ninechildren in this family.

LOT 2 - JAMES WILSON 48 acres. James Wilson sold his lot of 48 acres tohis son John H. Wilson in 1834 for $100 (Marshall Co. Bk.A-20). John H.Wilson later willed it to his son John Henderson Wilson in 1836.

LOT 3 - MOSES WILSON 67 acres. In 1840, Moses Wilson gave 4 acres to theCumberland Presbyterian Church on which the Pleasant Grove Meeting Housewas built. The balance of the 67 acres was sold in his estate settlementin 1850. Moses Wilson never married and his estate was administered byJames M. Wilson, 31 Dec 1852, Marshall Co. Bk. B-95. Moses Wilson wasburied in the Wilson Cemetery, Chapel Hill, Marshall County, TN. Histombstone reads: "In Memory of Moses Wilson, born July 1769, died July18, 1850, a bachelor and 11th son of R. & E. Wilson of N.C".

LOT 4 - ZACCHEUS WILSON 65 acres. In 1834, Zaccheus Wilson of WilliamsonCo. TN sold his 65 acres to his newphew, John H. Wilson for $250(Marshall Co. Bk.A-21) John H. Wilson willed the 65 acres to his sonIsaac Shook Wilson in 1836.

LOT 5 - SAMUEL WILSON 72 acres. Samuel Wilson died in 1812 inWilliamson Co. TN and his lot was divided among his six heirs; IsaacSmith and his wife Mary, Thomas Wilson and his wife Margaret, Newton Walland his wife Sarah , James S. Haynes and his wife Rispah, Josiah Wilsonand Willis Baucom and his wife Elizabeth.

LOT 6 - ROBERT WILSON 56 acres. Robert Wilson died 1819 in WilliamsonCo. TN and his lot of 56 acres was divided among his eight heirs; JanePatterson, Charles Calhoun and his wife Mary, John Wall and his wifeMartha, James Wilson and his wife Cynthia, Louisa Wilson, James S. Haynesand his wife Asenath, William Morrison and his wife Eleanor, and David G.Jones and his wife Matilda.

LOT 7 - JOSIAH WILSON 45 acres. Josiah Wilson kept his lot of 45 acresuntil his death in 1851.

LOT 8 - JOSEPH WILSON 50 acres . Joseph Wilson died in 1823 inWilliamson Co. TN and his lot of 50 acres was divided into eleven shares.Those owning shares were: Joseph W. Wilson, Thomas Wilson, David Wilson,Robert Wilson, Jesse Hardin and his wife Nancy, Margaret Linsey, G. B.Dean and his wife Eleanor and Patsy Cathey. (Marshall Co. Bk. F-373)

AARON WILSON HOME

The old Wilson house is located on Ezell Road in Chapel Hill Tennessee

(About a mile or so from downtown). It is owned by the Strasser family

who run a dairy farm there. When they bought the house it had beenstanding

vacant for several years but they have now restored it. It is a twostory

house with large stone fireplaces. I guess it may be built of logscovered

with siding but I don't really know. It is white and has tall columns onthe

front porch.There is a spring in the front yard. If you have a map ofthe land grant

Spring Creek runs adjacent to the property.

Revolutionary Patriots of Marshall Co. TN reports Aaron never married,and is thought to be buried in Wilson Cemetery near Chapel Hill, on landwhich he formerly owned. Others buried there are:

James M. Wilson 1821-1862

Others believe Aaron A. Wilson was buried at Thick Community inWilson-Cole Cemetery . Many stones have disappeared from this cemetery.
