Joseph's name is first listed on the tax list (age 21) in 1799, Montgomery Co., KY. next to his father Uriah Wilson, Sr. This would mean Joseph was born about 1778. His name remains on the Montgomery Co., KY Tax List 1800, 1801.
The tax list of 1810 for Bourbon County has Joseph Wilson listed next to Uriah (104 acres Hinkston), Jesse, David, Catherine (208 acres Hinkston); -illegible?- 70 acres Hinkston); Thomas (50 acres Hinkston); John (57 acres Hinkston). He was also listed on the Bourbon County census in 1810 living next door to his father, Uriah Wilson. [1]

Joseph Wilson may have married two more times as shown by Bath County, Kentucky marriage records.
In 1827, Bath County, Kentucky, Joseph Wilson married Louisa Linney. George Linney was bondsman. Marriage performed by Rev. John Smith.[5] [6]
In 1831 Bath County, Kentucky he married Nancy Jacks, believed to have been the widow of William M. Jacks. Her maiden name was White. [7] This deed in Bath County, Kentucky shows Joseph Willson and his wife Nancy , "and the heirs of William Jacks deceased of Bath Co., KY" purchased land (171 acres of land in Bath Co., KY. March 5, 1832) from Drusilla Thornburgh of Montgomery Co., KY for $23.00. In addition, Joseph Wilson was made guardian for the orphans of Wm. M Jacks in 1833. [8]
He was on the 1830 census for Bath County, Kentucky age 50-60. The oldest female in his household was age 20-30 and was probably a daughter and not his wife. This lends credence to the theory he was married three times. His second wife Louisa Linney had died before 1830 because her birth was about 1804 and there is no woman in that age group in Joseph's household 1830.[9]
Joseph Wilson sold 115 acres of land on Hinkston Creek in Bath County, Kentucky to Jacob Henry in 1835. [10]
