BAXTER Funeral services for Alvin Nelson Winfree, 82, of Baxter, will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 29, from the chapel of Baxter Funeral Home. Burial will be in Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Winfree died Thursday, March 25, 2010, in Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born July 8, 1927, in Detroit, Mich., to the late Homer and Stocia Maddox Winfree. Mr. Winfree was a member of Baxter Church of Christ and Indianapolis, Indiana Church of Christ.

His family includes his wife, Willene Winfree of Baxter; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Steven N. and Terri Winfree of Nashville, Ind., and James W. Winfree of Waukesha, Wis.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Clarence and Lela Winfree of Warren, Mich., and Leo and Tie Winfree of Baxter; five grandchildren, Victoria, Samantha, Timothy and Thomas Winfree and Kristina Henderson; and three great-grandchildren, Conner, Aidan and Isabelle Henderson. Bro. Benny Stephens will officiate at the services.
