Biography

Married HULDAH BRIGGS. Children: George H. (1842). He was a Quaker who apparently was quite serious. Apparently something interesting happened while he visited relatives in Rhode Island; the source doesn't say what it was.

Census 1850, Easton: Huldah Wing, 43; George H, 8 (both born NY; father George not listed which suggests he had died by this time); John Cullen, 27, from Ireland; Michael Cullen, 20, from Ireland, Mary S Hoig, 64, RI; Sarah Wing, 84, RI. The Cullen brothers are listed as laborers, obviously keeping the farm going. Sarah Wing's age might be 8; we aren't sure who she was. It wasn't George's mother, who had died in 1844.

Here's where it gets confusing: in the 1840 census there was a George Wing in Easton, Washington having a boy between 10 and 15 and a woman 50 to 60 with him, and a George W Wing in White Creek, Washington having a girl under 5. Both list a man and woman between 30 and 40. Huldah is listed in an 1865 census as having had 3 children, so one of these may be a child that didn't survive, or the boy may be a relative or ward who wasn't their child. A George W Wing is listed in Easton as being buried; he died in 1855 and has no other information listed. The 1840 Easton George is the most likely to be ours.

After 1850, Huldah married a Mr. Bois who must have died soon afterwards. She and her son George are found in the 1865 New York census living in Brant, Erie, NY.
