Hannah Winship was born in Arlington, Massachusetts Bay, on July 22, 1742. She was the daughter of Ephraim and Mehittable (Cutter) Winship.
Hannah married Seth Webb in Gorham, Cumberland, Maine in December 1759. In the Marriage Record, place of residence for both Groom and Bride is "New Marblehead" (now Windham), Maine. New Marblehead Plantation was given its name because in 1734 this new township was granted to about 60 settlers from Marblehead, Massachusetts Bay, by the Massachusetts General Court. In 1762, "New Marblehead Plantation" was incorporated as Windham.
Sometime between 1765 and 1769, Hannah and Seth moved their family from Windham to Hancock County and by 1770 had settled in Isle Au Haut. Hannah and Seth had 9 children: Susannah b. 1763; Josiah b. 1765; Hannah b. 1767; Bethiah b. 1769; Samuel b. 1772; Mehitable b. 1771; Mary b. 1774; William b. 1778; and Sarah "Sally" b. 1783.
In the 1790 Census Record for Deer Isle (inclusive of Isle au Haut), Hannah Webb is enumerated as Head of Family, self plus 4 females, 5 total.
Hannah passed away in her 73rd year in Deer Isle, Maine on April 15, 1815. She is buried in the Deer Isle Old Settlers Cemetery.
