When Wyatt Wolcott was born on April 9, 1739, in Wethersfield, Connecticut, his father, Samuel, was 25 and his mother, Mary, was 22. He married Desire Saxton in 1764 in his hometown. They had nine children in 19 years. He enlisted 1777 as Pvt. in CT Line and was at the Battle of Saratoga; was a Sgt. in the Albany Co. NY militia. They moved to Spencertown, NY by 1780 and moved to Hillsdale NY (after 1818 called Austerlitz) about 1782. He died on July 28, 1821, in Austerlitz, New York, having lived a long life of 82 years, and was buried there.
