Biography

Isabella Todd WOOD was born on 13 May 1838 in Stonehaven, Kincardineshire, Scotland.[1][2] She was the daughter of Robert WOOD (Shoemaker) and Jean (or Jane) CALDER.[3][4]

On 22 Jun 1858, she married James HENDERSON in Stonehaven, Kincardineshire, Scotland.[3] She was 20 years old and worked as a Shoemaker's Daughter in Newtown of Stonehaven, Kincardineshire, Scotland when she married James, who was a 40 year old Widower at that time. [3]

In 1861, she was described as a Ship Master's Wife and was living with her step-son Robert and her daughter Jane at Forbes Property in the parish of Dunnottar, Kincardineshire, Scotland.[2]

She had nine children with James HENDERSON:

In 1914, she lived at 27 Wallace Street, Grangemouth.[5][6] Isabella was the informant when her cousin Elizabeth WOOD died in Stonehaven.[5] Isabella was bequeathed £100 [approx. £11,500 or $14,500 in today's money] in the will.[6]

On 7 Apr 1919, she died at Ronaldshay Crescent in Grangemouth, Stirlingshire, Scotland when she was 80 years old.[4]. Cause of death was given as Cardiac Disease, Syncope and the informant was her daughter Elizabeth J. BURNS of 38 Wallace Street, Grangemouth.[4] Isabella's husband James had died 17 years before her.

HENDERSON, Isabella Todd Wood or, Abbotsville, Ronaldshay Crescent, Grangemouth, died 7 April 1919, at Grangemouth, intestate. Confirmation granted at Stirling, 13 May, to Margaret Amy Henderson or Tennant, Abbotsville aforesaid, her daughter, Executrix dative qua next of kin. Value of Estate, £305. 16s. 2d.
