Frederick Metham Wood, was born 7 February 1819 the third son of Thomas Wood and his wife Rebecca (nee Rebecca Walkden)and was baptised 5 March 1819 at St Alfege, Greenwich, Kent^[1]

He is listed as a Grocer on the birth certificate of his eldest son registered 31 May 1843^[3]
