Biography

Jane Wood was born on 11 Nov 1820 in Hobart. Father: Wood, John Mother: Wood, Ann [Sarah Nash] ^[1]

Reverend Knopwood was rather confused when entering Jane's birth details, DNA confirms her mother was Sarah (Nash) Wood.

Jane Wood 25 married Robert Alomes 24 on 28 May 1844 at St George's Church, Sorell. Witnesses were William Alomes (probably Robert's brother) and Sarah Wood (Jane's mother or sister). ^[2]

However, Roy Bridges describes Robert Alomes as middle aged on his marriage to Jane Wood in 1844. ^[3]

Jane Alomes died on 19 December 1858 at the age of 38 years at South Arm.^[4]
