John was born about 1734 in Goochland County, Virginia Colony. He was the son of Major Tarleton Woodson and Miss Shepard. He passed away about 1778 in Albemarle County, Virginia;[1] his will was proved in 1779 in Albemarle County. It names his wife Elizabeth and two children (p 82).[2][3]
John married Elizabeth Bailey on 24 December 1754 in St James Northam Parish, Goochland County, Virginia Colony. [4]
