Biography
- Mary Wright was born on 11 June 1622 in County Clare, Ireland. She married Thomas Bryan Sr. in Ireland on 1 June 1647 in County Clare, Ireland. They left Ireland for the English colony of Virginia shortly after their marriage. The family was Anglican Protestant (Church of England), a minority in Roman Catholic Ireland. The English Civil War led many Anglo-Irish Protestants to flee abroad.
Mary is said to have been the daughter of Thomas Wright and Mary Carter but no documentation has been found to support this.
