Sarah Wright was born about 1786. She was possibly the daughter of John Wright, a Dorking watchmaker. This would make sense as Thomas Hubbard was in the same business.
She married Thomas Hubbard in about 1804.
Sarah and Thomas had twelve children: Thomas (1805); John (1808); Jane (1810); Anne (1811); Harriet (1813); Joseph (1815); Eliza (1816); James (1818); Robert (1820); Richard (1822); Sarah Ann (1825); and Caroline (1829).
The 1841 census records Sarah, 55, residing in High Street, North side, Dorking with Thomas and five of their daughters: Jane, 25, Harriette, 25, Eliza, 20, Sarah Ann, 15, and Caroline, 11. As is common, ages of the occupants in the Hubbard’s household vary. Thomas’s occupation is recorded as watchmaker.
Sarah passed away in 1850.
