Biography

My husband and I met on a blind date in Ann Arbor, Michigan on New Years Eve 1958, we were engaged Christmas 1959, and married on the 4th of July 1960. We thank all of you for celebrating these special dates with us each year!

Education:

Rice Institute (now Rice University) Houston TX. BA 1955 (cost $11/yr yearbook & student health fee)

UTMB (Universty of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston) M.D. 1959 (tuition $25/semester)

My parents could not have paid the cost of an MDs education without my very good fortune in being accepted into Rice and then into the UTMB. There is a very long story here.

The summer after my freshman year at Rice our Girl Scout troop spent three months in Europe. In Paris we met Helen Keller; our names were spelled into her hand and then she felt our faces! In London we met Lady Baden Powell. We saw Winston Churchill leaving No. 10 Downing St. It was a wonderful trip.

Hi Jayne,

As you have a Volga German Project member badge, I wanted to let you know that the Volga German Project will now operate as a Team under the Germany Project. To continue your participation in the Volga German Team, you'll need to join the Germany Project. No other changes are being made at this time - this is simply an administrative change.

Can I add you as a member of the Germany Project? I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Thanks, Traci ~co-leader Germany Project

I don't have any information linking my family tree to the Duytzen line.

DR. JAYNE, The Berg surname is too universally come by.

I have Bergs in one of my German lines,My gm is Anna Elizabeth Berg and her father's heritage results in a von Berg and then before that, Sallmann.

Blessings to you for your working life, giving people back their lives.

Her LNAB was her mother's Bar (umlaut-a) and then back to some ordinary german names along another line: Schmid, Herrmann, Schneider, etc.

She came to the USA under rather dire conditions, as the only one in her immediate family who lived. The tree is Hilse-40.

DB Error shows a character in the Prefix field. Your assistance to correct this is appreciated.

Do you know what the correct LNAB is for the Kaemmerer-16/Kemmerer-119 merge?

Moses' mother is fixed. Also added his baptism.

Hi Jayne, did you want me to fix the mother on Moses Richards? I assume you want it to be Sarah Wheeler instead of Mehitable Battle.

Jayne, I see that you just did the Pre-1700 Self-Certification. That's great! Is there a particular time period, location, or topic you're interested in? Maybe you have some historically-significant ancestors? Participation in a project is strongly encouraged for those wishing to edit Pre-1700 profiles. You appear to have several interests. Why don't you stop by the Project List (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Projects to see how you can participate? Let me know if you need help with anything. We are glad to have you on board!
