Biography

Elizabeth Wyatt, daughter of Sir Francis Wyatt and his wife Margaret, was baptized 22 Sept 1630 at St James Clerkenwell, Middlesex:

"Eliz Daughter to Sr ffrancys Wyatt & Margrett ux cx'ned Same daie [22 September 1630]."[1][2]

Thomas Bosvile and Elizabeth Wyatt obtained a marriage license 5 November 1660 from the Vicar-General of the Archbishop of Canterbury:

"Nov. 5: Thomas Bosvile, of Littlemode Aynsford, par. Aynsford, co. Kent, Esq., Bachr, abt 20, son of Thomas Bosvile, late of same, Kt., decd, & Elizth Wiat, of Norton Kirby, sd co., Spr, abt 20; consent of mother Dame Margaret Wiat, Widow; attested by Edwin Wiat, Esq.; at St Gregory's or St Dunstan's West, London."[3]

A different published abstract of the same marriage license reports Thomas Bosvile's home parish as "Littlemore" and Elizabeth Wiat's home parish as "Horton Kirby."[4]

There are no such places as Littlemore, Littlemode, or Norton Kirby. Little Mote was meant for Thomas Bosvile's parish, and Horton Kirby was Elizabeth Wiat's.

Thomas Bosvile and Elizabeth Wiat were married 6 November 1660 in the parish of St. Gregory by St. Paul, London:

"Thomas Boswell: and Elizabeth Wyatt by a License from ye Vicar Generall marryed 6th November 1660."[5]

Thomas Bosvile, Esq., died 20 November 1660, exactly two weeks after his marriage to Elizabeth Wiat. He was buried in the parish church of St. Martin's in Eynsford, Kent, near his family seat at Little Mote:

"Here lyeth under hope of a glorious resurrection the body of Thomas Bosvile of Littlemote Einesford Esqr only son of Sr Thomas Bosvile Kt. He marryed Elizabeth only daughter of Sr Francis Wiat of Boxly Abby Kt by whome he left Margaretta his sole daughter and heire. He dyed 20 of November 1660."[6]

Margaretta Bosvile, only child of Thomas Bosvile, Esq., and his wife Elizabeth (Wiat) Bosvile, was born and baptized 9 August 1661 at Horton Kirby, Kent.[7]

Margaretta Bosvile and Robert Marsham obtained a marriage license 7 December 1681 from the Vicar-General of the Archbishop of Canterbury:

"Dec. 7: Robert Marsham, of St Dunstan's in the West., Lond., Esqr, Bachr, abt 30, & Mrs Margaretta Bosville, of Eynsford, Kent, Spr, abt 20, with consent of her mother Mrs Elizabeth Bosville, of the same, Wid.; at St Giles in the Fields, Midd."[8]

Margaretta Bosvile and Robert Marsham were married 12 December 1681 in the parish of St. Edmund the King and Martyr, London:

"Robert Marsham Esqr of ye Parish of St Dunstans in the West London & one of ye Six Clerkes [in Chancery] was married to Margaretta Boswell of Maidstone in Kent: 12 December 1681."[9]

Margaretta (Bosvile) Marsham, wife of Sir Robert Marsham, Baronet, and only child and heir of Thomas Bosvile, Esq., by his wife Elizabeth (Wiat) Bosvile, died in Maidstone, Kent, and was buried at Cuxton, Kent, 5 May 1710. The administration of her estate was granted 17 March 1711/12.[10]

Madam Elizabeth (Wiat) Bosvile, widow of Thomas Bosvile, Esq., and mother of Margaretta (Bosvile) Marsham, was buried at Eynsford, Kent, 10 August 1711:

"Mdm Eliz: Bosvile buried Aug: 10 [1711]."[11]

Wyatt-5744 and Wyatt-1320 appear to represent the same person because: created wyatt-5744 in error. same person

Wyatt-3588 and Wyatt-1320 appear to represent the same person because: Dup. Same husband/child. 1660 is est. marriage, so est dob on Wyatt-3588 is incorrect

Wyatt-1320 and Wyatt-2857 appear to represent the same person because: although i don't see good sources on either profile, it appears 1630 may be more correct than 1619 (profiles for children have birth years in the 1650s). The profiles are attached to duplicate profiles for Francis, which are in a proposed merge. These profiles appear to be intended to represent the same person & should also be merged. Thanks!
