Henry was the son of Henry Wyche, rector of Sutton, Surrey and Ellen Bennett/Benet, widow of Robert Quinnell.[1][2] He was born on 27 January 1648/9 and baptised at Sutton, Surrey on 4 February 1648/9.[3][4]
In 1678 Henry immigrated to Virginia, where he settled in Surry County on the James River.[1][2] In September 1679 a record of the court of Surry County shows him suing Thomas Busby.[5] In 1687 he was listed among the foot soldiers in the Surry militia.[6][7]
On 20 October 1689 Robert Owen was given a patent for land in Surry County. This included 95 acres for the importation of two person, John Sharp and Henry Wych.[8]
The name of Henry's wife is not known. He had the following children:
James,[1][2] whose will was proved on 20 June 1749:[7] he is named as executor and residuary legatee in his father's will, suggesting that he may have been Henry's oldest son[5]
Henry,[1][2] whose will was proved on 4 March 1740 (presumably 1740/1)[7]
Henry's will, dated 1 August 1712, was proved in Surry County, Virginia on 18 March 1714.[1][2] In it he:[5][9]
named:
his sons William, George, Henry and James, and George's son Peter, with James as his residuary legatee
his daughters Hilliner (Eleanor) and Sarah, and Sarah's son Henry
appointed his son James executor
does not mention his wife, suggesting she was likely to have died when he made his will
Research Notes
Parents
Douglas Richardson names Henry's mother as just Ellen Quinnell. His parents' 1644 marriage record makes clear that Quinnell was not her last name at birth: she is described in the parish register as widow of Robert Quinnell of Asted.[3] Ellen's last name at birth is proved by the parish register entry for her first marriage, at Morden, Surrey on 3 November 1641, which gives it as "Elizabeth Benet".[10]
Birth Date
Crozier's Virginia Heraldica wrongly gives Henry's birth date as 4 November 1645.[11]
Wife
As stated above, the name of Henry's wife is not known. Frances Judith Edwards has in the past been shown as his wife, with a marriage date of 1668. No good evidence has been found for this, and she has been detached.

Henry Wyche is NOT listed in Magna Carta Ancestry (volume I, pages xxiii-xxix "List of Colonial Immigrants") as a Gateway Ancestor, however he appears in both Magna Carta Ancestry (volume IV, page 386 WYCHE 15) and Royal Ancestry (vol. V, pages 413-415 WYCHE) in a Richardson-documented trail to Magna Carta Surety BaronWilliam Malet. This trail was project-approved/badged (reviewed May 2015 by a Magna Carta project member) and is set out in the Magna Carta Trails, below.
See Base Camp for more information about identified Magna Carta trails and their status. See the project's glossary for project-specific terms, such as a "badged trail".

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Henry by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Henry:
Ellen married Robert Quinnell before she married his father. Richardson has simply chosen the last name from her first marriage which is what would have been given in the parish register and may be what is in some sources.
April Dauenhauer is absolutely right, this Henry's wife is Unknown. One son of this Henry married a Judith and another son married a Frances. Both these two sons wifes first names turn up in this profiles listed wife, but no proof that this Henry married an Edwards. It is certainly causing confusion with this profiles children.

"corrected indicator for mother (Ellen Quinnell is source confirmed. Was she also Ellen Bennet?)"
Although text says "nee' Bennett" with footnote citing Richardson's Royal Ancestry (p 415, #15), Richardson says only "Ellen Quinnell".
