Biography

Edmund Wychingham of Woodrising, Norfolk England was the second son of Nicholas Wychingham of Upton (by his second wife Joan, who appears to have been the heiress of Antingham). Edmund married Alice, daughter and heiress of John Fastolf of Fishley. They had four daughters, and Edmund died in 1472..[1] [2]

"Julian aforesaid, on the death of Robert Avenel, remarried Nicholas Kymbell of Bedfordshire, Esq., of Bedfordshire; but it appears that she had a daughter and heir, Alice, who married John Fastolf of Fishley, in Norfolk, Esq., by whom she also had a daughter and heir, Alice, who married Edmund Wychingham of Fishley and Upton, Esq., 2d son of Nicholas de Wychingham, 2d son of William de Wychingham and Margaret his wife: this Edmund left, by the said Alice, 4 daughters and co-heirs; Elizabeth, married William Berdwell, Esq. of West Herling; Frances, to Sir William Nevill of Burscomb in Gloucestershire; Amy, to Richard Southwell of Wood Rising; and Joan to Sir Richard Longstrother, and after to Robert Boys."[3]

The Visitation of Gloucester records his name as Winchcombe. [4] According to the 1569 Heralds' Visitation of Gloucestershire William Myll of Harescombe, Gloucestershire married Frances, one of the daughters and heirs of Edmond Winchcombe, who in Harl MS 1041 is called Aron or Arona. William and Frances had two daughters and a son, Thomas. [5]
